TEAM

The team behind Stone Frigate is relatively small (although growing) and currently includes:

Concept/Design/Organisation

Matt Stokes, artist whose interests revolve around history, subcultures and their connected socio-political effects. A focus of his research lies in challenging stereotypes, often via large-scale collaborations with people, groups or communities to stage closed performances or fluid events, that result in films, archives or visceral moments. He recently produced In Absence of the Smoky God, a collaborative vocal composition inspired by Barry Hines’ 1984 BBC apocalyptic docu-drama Threads. The composition and connected video, based on dystopian worlds and ideas of the revision of language, evolved though workshops that incorporated larp ensemble techniques.

Debrief Design

Kevin Burns is a counsellor trained in Integrative Psychosynthesis and has recently become involved in Nordic-style larp. He has written a paper "The Therapy Game: Psychotherapy, Role-Play and Larp" which will be published in the WyrdCon book 2015.  He is experienced in working with groups of people around self-development and therapeutic work, and has published a book on Eastern Philosophy. Debrief is integral to the design of Stone Frigate, and will also be assisted by Wendy Quelch.

Logistics/Technical/Liaisons

Peter Sharpe is the curator of the Kielder Art & Architecture Programme, which has encompassed brokering the building of an observatory to the organisation of events and performances in and around Kielder. Peter is assisting to oversee the organisation of Stone Frigate within the borders of the Forestry Commission, in addition to assisting with the technical build.
